2025 REPORT
Become a godparent of an animal species
Becoming a godparent is a meaningful commitment. You create a special symbolic bond with a species living
in the Park, particularly with animals that are vulnerable and for which the Foundation works every day through
dedicated conservation projects. The funds raised through the godparent scheme are entirely allocated to nature
conservation and biodiversity projects in Belgium and around the world. In this way, you contribute directly to the
protection of endangered species.
Whether you choose to become a godparent yourself or offer a godparent package as a gift, your support truly
makes a difference for nature.

Sylvie – godmother of the Giant pandas
I have been the godmother of the Giant pandas for several years; for me, they are
the true mascots of the Park. I wanted to contribute in my own way to research
into and the conservation of this endangered species, in the hope of future births.
This role means a great deal to me: I feel truly connected to them, and the fact that
I receive their news first only strengthens that unique bond.
“
Animals have played an important role in my life since childhood. I have known
Pairi Daiza since its beginnings, and elephants have always fascinated me. In
2015, I discovered the godparent scheme when the Foundation was launched.
Year after year, this commitment became natural. Being a godmother is, for
me, a way to contribute to the Foundation’s conservation projects and to the
protection of animal species.

Frédérique – godmother of the Gentoo Penguins
I joined the godparent journey in December 2025 after getting to know the
Foundation through another project. I had long wanted to support an initiative
dedicated to animals and their protection. Through discussions with members of
the Foundation, I discovered the godparent scheme. I chose the Gentoo penguins,
a very accessible and much-loved species among visitors. Today, this is my way of
contributing, in my own way, to the Foundation’s actions.
