The CREAVES centre of the Pairi Daiza Foundation is a
specialised wildlife care facility located at the entrance
of Pairi Daiza. The centre is named “Géraldine’s
Heaven” in tribute to Géraldine Labille, a young animal
keeper who passed away on 29 September 2017, at
just 25 years old.
Unlike other CREAVES centres, animals are not
directly accepted from the public. Instead, the centre
supports the facilities that do receive them, by providing
specialist medical expertise. With advanced veterinary
infrastructure and a dedicated team of vets, animal
keepers and volunteers, wildlife requiring complex
surgery or specialised care is treated here. Close
collaboration is also maintained with external specialists
and universities. Once they have recovered, the animals
are returned to the wild through the CREAVES centre
that originally admitted them.
