2025 REPORT
Editorial
Dear Friends of the Foundation,
As in many previous years, 2025 was marked by uncertainty, conflict, and change. At times, the noise of the
world can make it tempting to lose hope. At the Pairi Daiza Foundation, however, we choose a different path.
Because every now and then, amidst the turmoil, a single moment reminds us what truly matters.
The quiet awe of standing just a few metres away from an elephant. The birth of a bearded vulture, carrying
with it the promise of a future generation. The wonder in a child’s eyes as they ask, for the very first time, how
they too can help protect the natural world.
These moments may seem small, but they mean everything. They remind us that every effort counts.
Because they bring us back to a belief we have never stopped holding: nature is not simply something to
admire. It is something to protect, to nurture and to pass on. But before we can safeguard it, we must first
reconnect with it. We must once again see nature not as a backdrop to our lives, but as something we are
fundamentally part of.
When that connection is made - with respect, humility and an open heart - something remarkable happens.
What once seemed beyond saving can begin to recover.
You are helping to make that possible. Just two years ago, 1,750 people chose to believe in this vision. Today,
that community has grown to more than 6,700 supporters. Thousands of individual voices and quiet acts of
generosity, united by a shared belief that a different relationship with the living world is possible. To us, this
is far more than a number. It is a growing community brought together by a common purpose.
That purpose can be summed up in one simple word. Sometimes we hesitate to use it because it feels almost
too simple, too powerful. Yet it is exactly the right word: Love.
Love for the living world. A love that inspires us to protect what is fragile, preserve what could so easily be
lost, and ensure future generations inherit a planet where wild beauty still thrives. And the love you show us
every day by choosing to stand alongside us.
At a time when so much encourages division and retreat, your commitment is an act of optimism and courage.
It reminds us of what the elephant, the bearded vulture and the child asking life’s first big questions all teach
us in their own way: we can only care for the world together, and we only truly care for it when we love it.
Your support gives us the determination to keep moving forward. The confidence not to lose faith. And the
conviction that wonder has the power to bring people together.
For your unwavering support, and for sharing our love of the living world, thank you.
