In 2024, the Pairi Daiza Foundation entered a strategic partnership with the NGO Noé for the management and
protection of two exceptional natural areas in Africa. Together, these areas cover 107,000 km² (around 3,5 times
the size of Belgium) of biodiversity-rich ecosystems, home to 55 threatened species.
In the Republic of the Congo, the Conkouati-Douli National Park combines jungle and coastline and is home to
gorillas, Forest elephants, leopards, Leatherback turtles, dolphins, and whales.
In Chad, the Binder-Léré Protected Areas Complex protects manatees, Kordofan giraffes, elephants, and numerous
bird species within a landscape of savannahs and lakes.
Noé, in collaboration with local governments, manages these areas and is supported by around 350 national
and local staff members.
