2024 REPORT
Editorial
Dear friends of the Foundation,
A year ago, when the Foundation published its first report, we emphasised the importance of taking an optimistic
and hopeful view of the world. Events since then might persuade some people to give in to the prevailing pessimism,
to argue that the world is about to end, to focus on the negatives.
Yet now more than ever, we need to showcase the extraordinary ability of the human species to reinvent the world
around it. Every era has faced seemingly insurmountable challenges. But history teaches us that, through hope and
determination, humankind can build a better world.
Perhaps contrary to the prevailing world view, we at the Foundation refuse to give in to alarmist rhetoric. Come rain
or shine, we are pursuing our mission: to preserve endangered species and habitats, while seeking to reconcile
humans with all living organisms, whether in the animal or plant kingdom. We firmly believe that our commitment
to build a harmonious world for all living beings can spawn a new era based on respect and cooperation.
In 2024, we worked tirelessly to build a community united around this vision. Thanks to you, we have grown from
1,750 donors to more than 4,400. This may seem like a modest number, but it carries enormous potential: the
potential to form the largest community committed to protecting the wonders of our planet. The past year has seen
a major step in this direction.
We are proud to have you by our side. We will pursue our commitment with strength and determination. You should
be proud to be part of this movement too. We cannot choose the world we inherit, but we can decide what we do
with it. We have a responsibility.
Together, let’s build the world of our dreams.
